About this tool

A balance transfer makes sense when the rate gap is meaningful and plenty of tenure is left. Ask your current lender to match the rate first; that often costs only a small conversion fee.

Worked example

With outstanding loan of ₹40,00,000, current rate of 9.5%, new lender's rate of 8.6%, months remaining of 200 and transfer costs: fee, legal, stamp of ₹25,000:

Net saving after costs₹4,16,027
Current EMI₹39,911
New EMI₹37,706
Interest saved₹4,41,027
Costs recovered in1 yr
