About this tool
Banks usually fund 80–90% of the on-road price. A bigger down payment cuts both the EMI and the interest; the last line shows the full cost of the car including interest.
Worked example
With on-road price of ₹12,00,000, down payment of ₹2,50,000, interest rate of 9% and tenure of 5 years:

| Total interest | ₹2,33,226 |
| Car's total cost (down payment + EMIs) | ₹14,33,226 |

Questions people ask
What tenure is best for a car loan?
Three to five years. Cars lose value quickly, so a seven-year loan can leave you owing more than the car is worth.
Is the on-road price or ex-showroom price financed?
Most lenders finance a share of the on-road price (including registration and insurance), but some cap it at the ex-showroom price.
