Questions people ask

Do I need GST on an invoice to a foreign client?

Export of services is zero-rated. Registered exporters usually invoice without GST under a Letter of Undertaking (LUT). Unregistered freelancers below the threshold don't charge GST.

Is this invoice legally valid?

An invoice needs your details, the client's, a unique number, date, description and amounts. GST-registered businesses selling in India should use the GST invoice generator instead.
