RD Calculator
Recurring deposit maturity from a fixed monthly deposit: total invested, interest earned and effective yield.
Methodology & assumptions
how this number is producedMaturity = D × [((1+i)^n − 1) ÷ i] × (1+i) · i = rate/12, n = months, deposit at start of month
Assumptions
- Deposits at the start of each month (annuity-due), compounded monthly at rate/12
- Reference rate: post-office RD 6.7% (Q2 (Jul–Sep 2026)) — your bank's rate is the input that matters
- Pre-tax; RD interest is taxable at your slab rate
Limitations
- Banks credit RD interest quarterly — monthly compounding here is a close approximation, actual maturity may differ by a few rupees
- Missed-deposit penalties and premature closure rules are not modelled
- TDS applies above the notified interest threshold in a financial year
Results are informational estimates produced by MyCapitalverse's own models. They are not financial advice and may differ from how a lender, insurer or authority computes the same figure.
How to use the RD calculator
- Enter the monthly deposit, rate and tenure.
- Read maturity value and interest.
- Compare with an FD or SIP of the same horizon.

Questions people ask
How does an RD calculator work?
Each monthly instalment earns quarterly-compounded interest for the months it stays deposited; the calculator adds them up.
RD or FD — which is better?
An FD earns more on a lump sum you already have; an RD suits saving from monthly income.
